When asked about feedback on their assessed work, a sizeable number of final year students in the UK feel that feedback is not provided promptly enough, and that it does not always help them to clarify things that they did not understand (National Student Survey data)

Staff already spend a good deal of time marking and providing feedback; the fact that a sizeable minority of students feel that it is not timely or effective suggests that a review of feedback policy would be beneficial to many programme teams. This resource aims to give you some ideas for changing feedback practice in ways which improve the effectiveness of feedback without increasing overall staff workload.
